Raven

Raven is a bad bird with good intentions: he wants to bring the gift of light to a dark world. In this retelling of a traditional Native American tale, Raven transforms himself into the grandson of the Sky Chief, finds the sun in a shimmering box, and turns back into a bird to soar into the sky and fling the sun into the heavens. This may sound like heady stuff, but McDermott’s lyrical prose and vibrant drawings could warm even the coldest heart.
